Met up with the rest of the team, Dave, Rob and Andrea, Kev and Tom at Lancastor. Booked into a horrible motel in a service area of the M6. I'm sure people go in there and never come out. A little Twilight Zone. Walked about 3 miles to a little village and had a great meal and a couple of pints. The walk back seemed longer.
Up at 5:00am to ride to Heysham to catch the ferry. Smooth crossing and arrived in douglas around 9:30, rode to Peel for a fat laden full English breakfast, bought a box of kippers from the smoke house and headed up to the Point of Ayre Lighthouse. Felt like I was home. Spent part of Monday servicing and replacing the from discs on the bike. The lighthouse is about 11 miles out of Ramsay, a trip that is done about 5 times a day, and enjoyable every time. A narrow lane winding thru hills and little villages.
A not-so good pic of the team, Andrea, Smith, Newbold and Morley with 'home' in the background ( the lighthouse, not the caravan!).
Got up on Tuesday to do a lap of the circuit and had to wait for fog to lift on the mountain section. Lots of local traffic so speed was restricted somewhat. Still, a good way to spend an hour before returning to the lighthouse for kippers and eggs.
Into Lexey for an ale and then on to the Gooseneck to watch the side cars. Another totally insane event. Some of the swingers ( ie. the mad pasengers) are girls, absolutely amazing to watch them moving from side to side to keep the outfits on the road.

A pic of the 'Lighthouse Gang' at the circuit.

Kippers? Haggis? I wasn't aware of your plan to eat one gross food per day. You're off to a cracking start.
Based on your future destinations, I can't wait to see where this goes...
Great stuff Paul. Keep off the kippers though, they may be slightly good for you. Stay upright.
